Jan Mertens

Jan Mertens is the Chief Science Officer at ENGIE, where he identifies emerging technologies and builds research partnerships to shape the company's long-term technology vision. He is also a Visiting Professor at Ghent University, teaching sustainable energy, and a Board Member of the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on Human Science of Environmental Action. He holds a PhD in Bioscience Engineering from KU Leuven and Master's degrees from KU Leuven and Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
