Christine Lagarde is the President of the European Central Bank, a position she has held since November 2019. Prior to that, she served as Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 2011 to 2019, becoming the first woman to lead both institutions. A former French Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industry, Lagarde has a background in law and was Chair of the international law firm Baker McKenzie.
