Mireya Mayor

Mireya Mayor is an anthropologist, author, and twice Emmy-nominated wildlife correspondent whose work bridges science, storytelling, and advocacy. A National Geographic Explorer, Fulbright Scholar, and National Science Foundation Fellow, she has spent her career documenting wildlife and habitat loss while championing solutions to protect biodiversity. As Director of Exploration and Science Communications at Florida International University, she leads programs that empower scientists to translate complex research into clear, compelling narratives for policymakers and the public alike.
