Dr. John Keeley is a research ecologist with the U.S. Geological Survey and adjunct professor at UCLA, with over 250 publications focusing on wildfire ecology, rare plants, and plant physiology. Having served as a biology professor at Occidental College and director of the National Science Foundation’s ecology program, he earned a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia and a Guggenheim Fellowship. His accolades include being a Fellow of the Southern California Academy of Sciences and an Honorary Lifetime Member of the California Botanical Society.
