Exploring the endemic whale shark in Mafia Island
Mafia Island lies off the East Coast of Tanzania, opposite the Rufiji River delta and is located about eight miles south of Dar es salam City in the Indian Ocean. Mafia Island is formed by several islands most of which are uninhabited. Mafia Island was formed during continental drifting and up warping of the ocean floor.
