Marianne Brown

Marianne Ailes is Professor of French at the University of Bristol, specialising in medieval literature. Her research focuses on the Charlemagne legend across Europe, Crusades literature, and medieval chronicles. She is co-author of The Legend of Charlemagne in Medieval England, exploring multilingual literary traditions. Marianne currently serves as President of the Société Rencesvals, the international society for the study of Romance epic.
