Looks like India hasn’t learnt from similar experiences in the past. Even though coal stocks run critically low at power plants, it’s not possible for Coal India to meet the rising demand alone. What has added fuel to the fire is non-payment of dues by discoms to power plants, miscalculations on domestic coal production, imports, allocation, and logistics.
