Towards a True Hydrogen Partnership between the EU and Hydrogen Exporting Countries
Mid-September 2022 has seen two moves from Brussels towards the implementation of the Hydrogen Accelerator. The European Parliament voted to remove the controversial “additionality principle” in order to boost the production of Green Hydrogen from renewable energy. Ursula von der Leyen declared in her State of the Union Speech the creation of a “Hydrogen Bank” backed by EUR 3 bn. These are steps, but not yet a leap forward.
