Earth Day: Satellites and climate change
Ahead of Earth Day, the Director of NASA's Earth science division reflects on what she sees as one of the most useful instruments used to better understand our planet-satellites. Thanks to them, we're able to analyze natural disasters and predict weather phenomena, as well as the impacts of climate change. "NASA has been observing the Earth system for decades," says Karen St. Germain, Director of NASA's Earth science division. And she credits one photo in particular for helping people realize of the beauty of our planet, and the necessity to preserve it.
